Ruth Bader Ginsberg
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a legendary Supreme Court Justice, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 15, 1933. Growing up in the Flatbush neighborhood, she faced gender discrimination at a young age. Despite these challenges, she pursued her education, graduating from James Madison High School and attending Cornell University and Columbia Law School.
Ginsburg achieved many milestones throughout her career. In 1972, she co-founded the Women's Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), arguing several landmark cases before the Supreme Court that advanced gender equality. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In 1993, she made history as the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court and served until her passing in 2020. Her accomplishments and dedication to justice left an enduring legacy on American law and society
